Princi Bakery, Wardour Street

This bakery and delicatessen is the first UK outpost of the fashionable Milanese chain.

Works on the Wardour Street premises focused on support for the main oven, a 5m cube of French brick with a mass of some 50 tonnes. To this end a steel frame, both structurally and thermally isolated from the existing building’s frame, was installed on a new foundation.

Other works included a new accommodation stair and justification of the existing structure for stone floor and wall finishes and stone furniture.

    Client: Princi UK
Architect: Claudio Silvestrin with Denton Corker Marshall
    Project Value: Undisclosed
