MHA has been involved with over 40 basement projects.

    The projects, mostly in London, range from single-storey basements beneath terraced houses, through multi-storey basements to accommodate swimming pools and squash courts beneath large detached houses, to deepened and new basements for education and commercial projects.

    Understanding the geological and hydrological context of each scheme is, self evidently, essential. Equally important is an understanding of statutory and planning policy relating to subterranean developments; such policy varies from borough to borough and has a profound effect on the timing and detail of technical submissions to seek approval for basement works. MHA basement schemes have been successfully approved across numerous London boroughs including Islington, Westminster, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Wandsworth and Camden.
